5 Simple Checks Before Fixing iPhone not Ringing Issue

5 Simple Checks Before Fixing iPhone not Ringing Issue

As you can see some of the reasons why your device is not ringing could be due to a few setting changes that you may have forgotten or you may not be aware of. For this reason, we recommend the following simple checks before attempting to fix the device.
1. Check Your Speaker

Your iPhone speaker, located at the bottom of the device, is used for every sound on the device including phone calls. Therefore, if you are unable to hear the ringtone when there is an incoming call on the device, the speaker could be broken.

To test it, play music or a video from YouTube in the device and make sure that the volume is turned all the way up. If you don't hear anything, then it is likely that the speaker is broken and may need to be repaired.
2. Check Do Not Disturb Settings

When Do Not Disturb is turned on, you will not be able to hear any sound from calls, texts, and notifications. It is therefore important to check if you turned on this feature in the past and forgot. Here's how to check Do Not Disturb in settings.

Step 1: Open Settings and then tap "Do Not Disturb".

Step 2: If the manual slider is enabled, turn it off. You may also want to check the "Scheduled" to see when it as used and whether you missed some calls in that time.

You can also tap "Allow Calls From" to select a group of contacts who can get through even when Do Not Disturb is enabled.
3. Check and Change a Ringtone

You may also want to check the ringtone you have selected to ensure that it is not corrupt and that it is working as it should. To do that go to Settings > Sound & Haptics > Ringtone and select a different ringtone.
4. Check the Headphone Mode

It is also possible that your device could be stuck in headphone mode. This can happen especially if you have been using your headphones for quite a while.

A software bug can cause the device to try and send the sound to the headphones instead of the speaker. The easiest way to tell is to connect the headphones and see if you can hear the ringing.
5. Check the Ringer and Alert Settings

You should also go ahead and check whether there is an orange stripe on your ring/silent switch. If there is one, then the ringer is set to "Silent". Simply flip the switch to turn it on.

To turn on the volume on the ringer from the settings, go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics and drag the "Ringer and Alerts" slider to increase the ringer volume.

Apple Will Launch AR Headset in Collaboration with Third-Party Brands in Q2 2020

Reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that Apple’s AR headset will launch in early 2020 and will enter into mass production in Q4 of this year.
This is something that the analyst had claimed in one of his previous notes as well. This time, however, he says that Apple will collaborate with third-party brands to launch the AR headset in Q2 2020. It is unclear as to what exactly this means and if Apple will work with major brands in the eyewear market like Ray-Ban, Armani etc.
He further adds that Apple will be marketing the AR headset as an iPhone accessory, with all the processing and computing workload being driven by the phone. This will ensure that the AR Glasses are light and comfortable to wear. It sounds like Apple is working on a Gear VR or Google Daydream like VR headset instead of a Google Glass-like device. Also Read:20 AVI movie sites to Watch AVI Movies

iOS 13 already contains a number of references to an AR headset from Apple which makes it clear that its launch is imminent.
The analyst also mentions in his note that Apple will launch the iPhone SE 2 and new iPad Pro models in the first half of 2020. He has already predicted that the iPhone SE 2 will feature an iPhone 8-like design and an A13 chipset. Apple will also release new MacBooks with Scissor switch keyboards around the same time. The company is expected to announce a 16-inch MacBook Pro later this month. Thus, it makes sense for Apple to gradually upgrade its entire MacBook lineup with scissor-switch keyboard mechanism over the next few months to a year.Tips:

As for the new iPad Pro model, it will come with a ToF camera which is also expected to make its way to the 2020 iPhones. Apple is widely expected to announce a refresh of its iPad Pro lineup this month. It would be odd for the company to go ahead and again announce new iPads six months from now. So, it is possible that the company will not refresh its iPad Pro lineup this year and instead do it directly next year.
