Pandora Modes Makes it Easier to Customize Stations

Pandora Modes Makes it Easier to Customize Stations

Pandora is meant to offer the best possible way to listen to customized stations, and that’s getting tweaked even more.

Today, Pandora officially announced “Pandora Modes”. This is a way to quickly and easily customize various stations, all while fine tuning exactly what you want to listen to from artists. The new feature is available for free and premium listeners, so it’s not locked behind a monthly subscription.

“Today, we’re introducing Pandora Modes, a new feature allowing both free and premium users across all tiers of service to customize their listening experience on their favorite Pandora stations for how they want to listen now. This latest innovation for our millions of listeners offers a set of selectable “modes” that give you more control over the kinds of songs that are played on your Pandora stations. Think of it as “leaning in” just a bit from the “lean back” Pandora station listening experience you know and love.”

The “My Station” Mode will not be changing, and it will remain the “classic” station that the majority of Pandora customers have come to love. Here are the additional Modes:

2. Crowd Faves: You’ll hear the most thumbed-up songs by other listeners within that station

3. Deep Cuts: You’ll go deeper into the catalog of that station artist/genre.

4. Discovery: You’ll hear more artists who don’t usually play on that station.

5. Newly Released: You’ll hear the newest releases from that station artist/genre.

6. Artist Only: You’ll hear only songs by that station artist.

Pandora Modes is launching today and it should be widely available as of the time of publication. It’s worth noting that the default is the aforementioned “My Station” mode. However, once you jump over to another Mode you’ll stay in that one until you switch out of it on your own. The new Modes are available only on the web to start, but they will be rolling out to the mobile app in the “coming months”.

Apple Shares Hilarious New ‘Private Side’ iPhone Privacy Ad

Apple Shares Hilarious New ‘Private Side’ iPhone Privacy Ad

Apple always puts a lot of emphasis on privacy in its software, hardware, and in everything it does. To showcase how important privacy is on a smartphone, the company has rolled out a hilarious new ‘Private Side’ iPhone ad.

The ad shows some day-to-day activities and actions we do every day to help protect our privacy. The situations shown in the ad are definitely very relatable, like locking the bathroom door, putting up a ‘Private Property’ board with ‘No Trespassing’ sign, stopping a conversation in a cafe when the waiting staff comes to clear the table, and more.

The 45-second ad definitely hits home and shows just how much we value our privacy in real-life. Towards the end, the ad says that “if privacy matters in your life,” it should also “matter to the phone your life is on” and then proceeds to show an iPhone.

Despite goof-ups from time to time which includes the serious Group FaceTime bug, Apple remains committed to protecting the privacy of its users. The same cannot be said for other smartphone OEMs who are known to leak their user data or show ads on their phones.
We Want to Hear From You

How much do you value privacy on your smartphone? Is privacy one of the reasons you use an iPhone on a daily basis? Or is it something that you don’t bother with much? Also Read:jihosoft Free iPhone Data Recovery

Latest Unc0ver Jailbreak Beta for iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 Fixes Major Instability Issues

Latest Unc0ver Jailbreak Beta for iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 Fixes Major Instability Issues

The @pwn20wnd team has released a new beta of Unc0ver jailbreak for iOS 12 – iOS 12.2 which fixes a major instability issue while loading tweaks.

The update also fixes the random slowdowns and crashes that many users reported after using Unc0ver to jailbreak their iPhone. For others, it also solved the respring loop their device used to go every once in a while. If the update still does not help solve the respring issue, you can turn the Reload System Daemons option in Unc0ver.

If that does not help solve the random reboots and freezes, you should downgrade Snowboard to v1.0.1 as that seems to have worked for many people.

Below is the full change-log of Unc0ver v3.0.0 b46:

Improve assertion

Prevent device from sleeping while app is active

Internally disable the “Disable App Revokes” switch and revert its changes if it was used before to prevent major instability issues that caused issues with loading tweaks on iOS 12

Update the APT lists cache file for repositories

The latest release of Unc0ver also makes the jailbreaking process noticeably faster, with resprings being around 3-5 seconds shorter for most people.

If you have already used Unc0ver to jailbreak your iPhone, you can update to the latest release by simply updating the app through Impactor or Reprovision and then re-jailbreaking your device again.

Once you have already jailbroken your iPhone or iPad running iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2, make sure to check out the list of the best jailbreak tweaks and Cydia sources to have the best jailbreaking experience possible. Also Read:jihosoft Free iPhone Data Recovery

Apple Working on 10.2-inch iPad 7 and 10.5-inch iPad

So far rumors have pointed to Apple working on the iPad mini 5 and a 9.7-inch or 10-inch iPad but the latest rumor puts a twist in that story. A reliable leaker claims that Apple is working on iPad 7 with a 10.2-inch display as well as a new 10.5-inch non-Pro iPad.

While the Cupertino company intends to launch both, they will not arrive at the same time. It is possible that at Apple’s media event later this month, we will see the company announce the iPad 7 with a 10.2-inch display. The tablet will have the same physical dimensions as the existing 9.7-inch iPad but come with thinner bezels and a slightly larger display.

CoinX@coiiiiiiiin

Both iPad 7 (10.2”) and the “new” iPad (10.5”, non-Pro) are coming. But not at the same time.

As for the 10.5-inch non-Pro iPad, it is unclear if it really exists and exactly how it will fit in Apple’s lineup. Apple previously offered a 10.5-inch iPad Pro but replaced it with an 11-inch variant last year.

By offering so many display options, Apple might just end up cluttering and complicating its iPad lineup unnecessarily. An iPad mini along with a 10-inch iPad should be more than enough for most users, with the more powerful iPad Pro aimed at professional users. Apple, however, seems to have something else in mind.

Given the reliable history of CoinX in terms of iPhone and Apple-related leaks, it is tough to dismiss his tweet despite it not matching up with the narrative of other rumors. How do you think Apple can differentiate between an iPad with a 10.2-inch display and one with a 10.5-inch display? Let us know by dropping a comment below.

Apple stops signing iOS 12.1.1 Beta 3, kills downgrades to jailbreakable firmware

Apple has finally stopped signing iOS 12.1.1 Beta 3 for compatible devices. Here’s what this means for the jailbreak community.

Table of Contents

Signing window of iOS 12.1.1 Beta 3 closed

What next?
SIGNING WINDOW OF IOS 12.1.1 BETA 3 CLOSED

Apple has closed the signing window of iOS 12.1.1 Beta 3, which was the last jailbreakable firmware version that was still signed.

As of this writing, iOS 12.1.1 Beta 3 is not signed for any device that’s capable of running it.

The closure of the signing window shouldn’t affect anyone as Apple left the signing window open for almost three months.

This is unheard of in the realm of jailbreaking as exploitable versions are unsigned almost instantly.

Yalu Jailbreak@Yalujb

Apple has stopped signing iOS 12.1.1 Beta 3 for all compatible devices. You can no longer update or downgrade to this version via iTunes. #firmware #update

For those who don’t know, Apple launched the third beta of iOS 12.1.1 on November 15, 2018.

The sheer duration of the signing window suggests that something fishy is going on behind the scenes.

Usually, all iPhone and iPad users, except for jailbreak enthusiasts, update their devices to the latest signed version via OTA.

It’s plausible to assume (without wearing a tin foil hat) that Apple may be using this update to lure jailbreakers and then track their devices to get a handle on new features that users actually want on iOS.
WHAT NEXT?

Users who are already on this version or below will remain unaffected by this development.

Further, upgrades will still work thanks to FutureRestore and SHSH Blobs.

Downgrades, on the other hand, will cease to work as iOS 12.1.3 and above versions lack a functional jailbreak or a nonce setter. Also Read:jihosoft Free iPhone Data Recovery

Fix iTunes Stuck on Extracting Software

1 Update iTunes to the Latest Version

Whenever you find iTunes getting stuck on extracting software, the first thing you need to make sure is the iTunes version is the latest one. You need to scrutinize your system and check if iTunes is not outdated. If yes, you've caught the culprit. Now, when you know the trigger point of the problem, you should take action to resolve the problem. In order to install the latest iTunes in our computer, follow the instructions below.

For Mac:

Launch the App Store and navigate to the App Store window.

Hit on 'Updates'. You will be able to notice if any update is available or not.

Download and install it now.

For Windows:

Launch iTunes and click on 'Help' located at the menu bar.

Choose 'Check for Updates' and on having a new update, install it on your PC.

3. Disable the Anti-virus Software

As stated above, when you're having anti-virus software in your system, it can be a hindrance between Apple servers and iTunes thereby giving your problems like making iTunes stuck on extracting software. So, make sure to turn off the security or anti-virus software on temporary basis. Check if this turned out to be helpful for you.

4. Restart Your Computer or Try Another Computer

If there's no improvement after trying above methods, hopefully this will work. Firstly, you should try to give a restart to your PC. Also, it is suggested not to launch other programs simultaneously. This may influence the performance of iTunes.

In addition, if iTunes stuck on extracting software, you can try another computer to accomplish the task. Especially when the other system has better performance, it is advisable to use it to restore your iPhone.
5. Check Internet Connection

If you've updated iTunes and also used the other aforementioned tips, but still not getting any results, here is the next tip you can try. Make sure to check your internet connection if it's working properly. You can switch to another Wi-Fi and then try again.

How to Fix iPhone GPS Weak Signals

For many Apple users you might experience iPhone GPS weak signal or iPhone GPS not working iOS 12. It can be very frustrating if you need to use your iPhone but you do not know what to do to fix your phone issues. These problems mostly occur mostly when you upgrade your device to the latest version of iOS. You will find that your GPS is not accurate or your location service’s feature is not working. There are various ways of fixing these iOS issues on your devices.

In this article, we look at the simple and easy ways that you can use to fix your GPS problems.

1. Reset Network Settings

2. Turn on and Turn Off Airplane

3. Disable and Enable Location Services

4. Reset Location & Privacy

5. Drain the iPhone Battery

6. Fix iPhone GPS Weak Signal without Data Loss
1. Reset Network Settings

There are times you will experience poor GPS signal causing the location service not to work properly. This is caused by a network connection issue. If your iPhone is experiencing such a problem you can reset your device’s network settings. The following steps will help you to rectify iPhone GPS not working in iOS 12.

Go to your device’s Settings then click on the General tab, tap on the Reset button then click Reset network setting. With this action you will be able to erase all your iPhone’s VPN and APN settings and Wi-Fi passwords.

2. Turn on and Turn Off Airplane

Once in a while your phone’s GPS may stop working or you may be having iOS 12 update failed with iTunes. In such a situation toggling the Airplane mode is a simple and fast way of fixing this issue. You may also experience Wi-Fi issues or get a ‘no service’ error on your phone. To fix this you just need to turn the Airplane mode on and off.

3. Disable and Enable Location Services

Your iPhone’s Location services are turned on if you do not get a lock on your GPS signal or if you do not receive a massage indicating ‘Accurate location unavailable’. You will need to verify if the Location services are on because there are cases of it being off when it indicates it is on.

Go to your iPhone Settings, click on Privacy then select Location services. Check for the Runkeeper app and make sure the Location services are On. To make sure it is enabled, turn it Off then On again.

4. Reset Location & Privacy

If your iPhone is having persistent GPS problems like iPhone weak GPS signal, you can try resetting the Location & privacy settings on your iPhone. This is a simple way of fixing your iPhone’s GPS issues.

You need to go to your iPhone’s Settings and click on the General tab then select Reset. Scroll down to the Reset Location & privacy tab. You will then need to enter a passcode or not then click Reset settings to confirm what you have just done. Point to note is that all your apps will need to be granted permission to use the location feature after the reset.

After you have completely charged your iPhone, check if the phone’s GPS features are working again. This is a temporary solution to your problem because it returns after some time.

Samsung Sends Foldable Display Samples to Apple and Google 2019

Samsung has usually reserved the best OLED panels for itself. However, it looks like for its foldable OLED panels, the company is making an exception. The Korean company has sent out samples of its foldable display to Apple and Google.

The foldable OLED panel set sent by Samsung Display measures 7.2-inches — 0.1-inch smaller than the one used on the Samsung Galaxy Fold, the company’s first foldable product.

“We know that Samsung Display has supplied a set of foldable drives to Apple and Google in order to fully expand its folder-based display business and uncover customers,” an industry source familiar with the Samsung Foldable Display said.

Samsung has likely sent out OLED foldable panels to Apple and Google so that their engineers can play around with the technology and come up with product ideas where the panels could be used.

The report says that Samsung is looking for customers for its foldable OLED panels. While the company reserved its curved OLED panels for itself for almost two years, it is not taking a similar stance with its foldable display panels. That’s because it does not expect them to have the same impact as its OLED panels had.

For now, the foldable display technology is still too young. However, by sharing panels with Apple and Google, Samsung will allow them to develop interesting products around them. Right now, the problem is that foldable displays look cool in tech demos. Whether they are useful in real life or not is something that is yet to be seen. And this is what their success will depend on as well.

Apart from Samsung, Huawei has also announced its foldable phone — the Mate X. Unlike the Galaxy Fold, the Mate X has a more attractive design, though Huawei is sourcing the foldable panel from BOE instead of developing one of its own.

iPhone Text Sound Not Working? Here Are 5 Tips

1. Check Mute Switch and Text Tone

When your iPhone text tone is not working, you can check the settings and find out whether the text tone has been muted or not. Sometimes accidental touch or sliding on the device screen mutes it, and sometimes the iOS may go wrong, which leads to the change of the settings. Here is what to do:

On your iPhone, browse for 'Settings' > 'Sounds' > 'Ringer and Alerts' > turn it 'ON'. Ensure that the volume slider is towards high.

Put the 'Vibrate on Ring/Silent' switch towards on.

2. Check Custom Settings for the Contacts

In case iPhone text tone is not working for a selected number of people, but works fine with others, then you can try digging into the custom settings for the specific contacts and fix it. Here is how –

On your iPhone, open the 'Contacts' app and click on a contact that doesn't receive incoming text alerts (tones).

Click on the 'Edit' button > 'Text Tone' button > change the alert sound.

Choose a new tone > hit the 'Done' button.

3. Check Do Not Disturb

Turning on the 'Do Not Disturb' feature on your iPhone can result in no text sound issue. You can easily fix this no text alert problem by turning off DND. Here are the steps:

Head to 'Settings' on your iPhone > 'Do Not Disturb' > toggle it 'OFF'.

Another way to do that is 'Settings' > 'Notifications' > 'Messages' > turn on 'Allow Notifications'.

To deactivate 'Do Not Disturb While Driving'

Go to 'Settings' > 'Do Not Disturb' > turn off 'Do Not Disturb While Driving'.

Note: You can set it to 'Manual' as turning on the 'Automatic' option will activate DND even when driving like motion is detected by the iPhone.

Check if Do Not Disturb for a specific contact is activated

Open 'Messages' on your iPhone > look for a moon sign if any across the list > swipe left on the conversation > 'Show Alerts' > disable it.

4. Turn off Bluetooth

Forgetting to disconnect Bluetooth devices with your iPhone may cause the iPhone make no text sound. The alerts are sent to the Bluetooth device connected to the iPhone, rather than making your iPhone chime.

To fix this, go to 'Settings' > 'Bluetooth' > un-pair any connected device/ 'OFF' (if no Bluetooth device is connected).

5. Force Restart Your iPhone

Here is force restarting your iPhone 6 and older versions –

Start holding down the 'Power' button and 'Home' button at the same time and lift the fingers when Apple logo glows on screen.

Here is how to force restart your iPhone 7/7 Plus without using the screen –

Click on the 'Power' and 'Volume Down' buttons altogether. Keep doing this for nearly 10 seconds and let go off the buttons after Apple logo start surfacing on screen.

This is how to force restart your iPhone 8/iPhone X –

Give a quick tap to the 'Volume Up' key.

Do the same with the 'Volume Down' key.

Once this is done, begin pressing the 'Power' key until you get to see the Apple logo on screen.

Hope this helped you fix the iPhone text sound not working issue.
